Smart electricity meters have entered full-scale deployment across several Iraqi provinces as part of the national digital transformation project in the power sector.

The rollout includes multiple districts in Baghdad as well as the provinces of Diyala, Kirkuk, Anbar, and Wasit, where technical teams have begun installing smart electricity meters and integrating them with centralized monitoring systems.

The new system provides accurate electronic readings, allowing consumers to track their daily electricity usage around the clock without reliance on manual estimation or traditional billing methods.

Centralized System with Zero Human Intervention

The meters are connected to an advanced central monitoring platform that automatically calculates electrical loads, significantly reducing errors and ensuring fair billing while supporting national energy efficiency goals.

Government Entities Fully Covered

The Ministry of Electricity confirmed that all government institutions are now covered by smart meters and electronic payment mechanisms, reinforcing broader efforts to regulate consumption and modernize energy management nationwide.
