Iraq Reports 34,000 New Industrial Projects in Three Years

Iraq has recorded a notable Iraqi industrial growth after more than 34,000 industrial projects were launched over the past three years, signaling improving business conditions and rising domestic investment.

The Federation of Iraqi Industries said Iraqi industrial growth has been supported by a series of government measures designed to back national manufacturing and encourage private sector participation across new production segments.

Federation head Adel Akkab noted that Iraqi industrial growth has been achieved despite ongoing challenges, adding that efforts are continuing to remove obstacles facing industrial investors.

Private sector activity

Separately, the Ministry of Industry and Minerals said its General Directorate for Industrial Development has issued 2,188 establishment licenses to private sector projects since the start of the year.

Of these, 1,849 licenses were granted to projects still under establishment pending full regulatory approvals, while 339 full licenses were issued to projects that completed all official requirements.

These figures underline accelerating Iraqi industrial growth and strengthening investor confidence in the country’s industrial market.
