Ministry of Trade Denies Disappearance of 934 Billion Dinars and Confirms Self-Funding
The Iraqi Ministry of Trade has firmly denied reports claiming the disappearance of 934 billion dinars from its treasury, stressing that such allegations are completely unfounded and lack any official documentation or legal evidence.
The Ministry of Trade said the circulating claims on social media and some media outlets are entirely inaccurate.
In an official statement, the Ministry of Trade clarified that it has not received its operational budget for the current year, noting that operations have continued since the beginning of the year based solely on limited self-generated resources, under the oversight of financial and regulatory authorities.
The ministry emphasized that discussing the loss of funds it never received is a baseless accusation, reaffirming its commitment to protecting public funds and adhering to the highest standards of integrity and transparency.
It also confirmed that its records are fully accessible to the Federal Board of Supreme Audit, the Integrity Commission, and all relevant oversight bodies, with no financial or administrative violations recorded against the ministry or its leadership.
The ministry urged media organizations and the public to verify information before sharing it, warning that spreading rumors can disrupt public opinion and undermine efforts aimed at serving citizens and maintaining financial and administrative stability.
